Similarities and Differences between Your Country and the US
What have you noticed the same and/or different between your country and the US. Write on the things that are not so obvious. Language, weather, and food are obvious examples.
The difference between my county and the US, I’m from Kuwait and the difference between Kuwait and the USA is the transportation. The transportation in California is bad you should have a car so you could me more comfortable. In Kuwait is easy to transport from a place to another because there are many taxies and there are a lot of car rents. The distance to your place to another place is so different because USA is so big and the roads are straight and there’s no ending but in Kuwait everything is near you, the farthest place could be 30 min maybe. The similarities between Kuwait and USA is the kindness, teachers are good and there are some several restaurants that you can find in my country that I found them here.

The differences between China and the US. First of all, in Fullerton, the transport is very terrible. Uber is only the way to help you to go to somewhere, but it's so expensive. for me, I spent more 2000 dollar on Uber. But in Shanghai, the subway is very popular and cheap. Just one dollar you can go anywhere in Shanghai. On the other hand, you can spend 50000 dollar buy a new car in USA. But in Shanghai, you will spend more than 100000 dollar to buy a same car. It's so crazy about car price in China.
Chinese teachers are very different from the US teachers. Chinese teachers don't like student talk a lot when they start class. but, American teachers want student talk. Chinese teachers in the classroom when the atmosphere is very quiet, but the US teachers want their class is active. Chinese teachers to allow students to listen to more, the US teachers to discuss more students. Chinese teachers hope that students can find the answer from the text, the US teachers want to find answers from practice.So ,they are very different.
Compared with the US and China, it is easy to find some obvious differences. Few of us would deny the US has a better education system in the world. In Chinese campus, It is so hard to search various activity you enjoyed in different club. And the Chinese class is not more interesting than the US class. Another slight varied from these country is traffic. Aside from their own car, Some people from China usually take subway or bus to go to work or school. It is very different from the US because of the population of China. At last, we also have some similarities in daily life like attitude of fashion and life.

I come from Taiwan, and my home country has a lot of different from the U.S. First, our living habit are different. In Taiwan, we usually have fun at night and many people eat their dinner after 9 P.M., because our house is very small. In the U.S. most of people will back home at night, because American they take more time with family, and also their house is huge. Second, Taiwanese they all take out their shoes at home, because our weather is very humid and raining all the time. In the U.S., they are wearing shoes all the time include on their bed. Last, Taiwanese can speak at least two languages, and travel to other country all the time. Because our country is tiny. In the U.S., a lot of people they only speak English and they have never seen their passport in their whole life. Because American is big enough. That are the difference between Taiwan and the U.S.
I think the comparison between Korea and US can be explained for 2 part. The first comparing point is housing system. In Korea many people live in apartment. Compared to US, continent of Korea is very small. The land size is not enough to many individual houses to be built on. In contrast, US has very large size of continent, so there are many individual houses built on US and not many apartments. The second thing is about the agriculture. I said previously about the difference of continent size. It also makes difference in agriculture in two nations. US can cultivate large amount of grains. In Korea it can't be possible to cultivate enough grain. This difference makes Korea to income grains like rice from US.
I think the comparison between Korea and US can be explained in 2 parts. The first comparing point is the housing system. In Korea many people live in apartment. Compared to US, continent of Korea is very small. The land size is not enough to many individual houses to be built on. In contrast, US has very large size of continent, so there are many individual houses built on US and not many apartments. The second thing is about the agriculture. I said previously about the difference of continent size. It also makes difference in agriculture in two nations. US can cultivate large amount of grains. In Korea it can't be possible to cultivate enough grain. This difference makes Korea to import grains like rice from US. And it makes economic conflict between government and farmers in Korea. In stance of government, importing grains from US is much cheaper than producing autonomously. In contrast, farmers in Korea have complaints about importing because it takes stake of income from them. To resolve this conflict they have negotiation repeatedly.
Each country has a specific culture and style life. My country Saudi Arabia and Unite States have a several things which are similar or close together or there are differences. For example, education in SA is totally different in US, there are separate school boys with boys and girls with girls while in US the student together boys and girls. The material that the teacher use it the same. Second, transportation in SA and US in my opinion it the same and similar rules except the women in us cannot drive .

In my country people speak Arabic language, but in US they speak English language. the second differences is the weather. In Kuwait the weather in the summer so hot and dry but in the winter it so cold and rainy. In US the weather in the summer so hot also but not dry it have some wind and fresh air. The third differences is the food. In Kuwait there no different kind of food from other cultures, but in US I found many food from different cultures, so I tested new food that I never try it before.
In Saudi Arabia, you should have a car because there is not enough transportation inside cities. However, right now there is a huge project of transposition not finish yet, so after few years we will can use them inside Riyadh city. On other hand, south California is better than Saudi Arabia about buses. Also, we have different formal dress for man. We ware thobe and chmagh. However, here formal dress is a suit. In Saudi Arabia, the education for male and female have something unique which is separated universities for male and female. In contrast, here gender study together in one class.
There are some differences about school between the U.S and Japan. When going to school, children are driven by their parents in the U.S, but in Japan, children go to school by themselves even they are first grader. children walk or take a bus or train to go to school by themselves. If parents drive their children to school, that means that children woke up late, and parents have to drive them not to be late or it is rainy hard or children have a cold or something. In other words, as long as there is no special reason, usually parents do not drive children to school. I think that Japan is safer than the U.S, so Japanese children can go to school without parents. In the class, there are some differences. In the U.S, the class system is participatory for students. Teachers often ask students questions, and students think about the questions and response them. Students also ask questions their teacher in the class. These good things are that students can think or crate ideas by giving time, and they can share problems in the class. On the other hand, in Japan, the class system is passive type for students. Teachers do not ask students questions frequently, and students also do not ask questions in the class. We think stopping class is disrespect against other students. if students have questions, they ask teachers after class. By this, the class proceed smoothly. I think that in the U.S, people tend to cherish individual, and in Japan, people tend to cherish one group.

In japan, elementary school is 6 years, middle school and high school is 3 years each. American students enter the high school earlier and see elder students, so I think the American grade system makes students be aware of being adults more than Japanese system. Third, a uniform rule is different. In public middle schools and high schools in the U.S, most of students wear plain clothes. On the other hand, in public schools in Japan, most of students are required to wear stated uniforms. We have also to wear stated shoes and have bags, and it is prohibited wearing a pair of pierce, painting nails, changing hair color, and making up. I think American schools respect each individuality. Japanese schools promote a unity as a group or an organization by determining the rules, and students learn the importance of following the rules as an organization. Finally, In the class, there are some differences. In the U.S, the class system is participatory for students. Teachers often ask students questions, and students think about the questions and response them. Students also ask their teacher questions in the class. These good things are that students can think or crate ideas by giving time, and they can share problems in the class. On the other hand, in Japan, the class system is passive type for students. Teachers do not ask students questions frequently, and students also do not ask questions in the class. We think stopping class is unrespect against other students. if students have questions, they ask teachers after the class. By this, the class proceed smoothly. After nearly 3 months in US, I have some experience about public transportation and some comparative between VN and US. First of all, I want to mention similar in two countries. Those of them also have public transportation as bus, train and so on. In VN, bus brings people from outside of city to downtown in round trip, and it has similar in US. Every customer must take the bus in bus station and check for the routine before their trip. In addition, they do not allow bringing a big belonging to bus or be charged the amount of fee for oversize. The bus vehicle must provide air conditioner during the trip and nice with customer, the owner company puts camera on bus to observe for all activities in bus vehicle. Secondly, besides the similarity, they also have some differences. In VN, customers do not need to prepare the exactly fare, they can get change. However, the bus fare is 5,000vnd; they can give 10,000vnd or 20,000vnd, but 50,000vnd is rejected by bus driver. In US, customers must prepare exactly fare and put it into machine, so they cannot get change for the surplus. Especially, the routine is very different between two countries. In VN, customers are easy to take the bus, just waiting around 10 or 15 minutes, the next bus will come. It is so convenient for bus taker. On the other hands, the bus routine in US is so crazy, sometime customers have to wait for an hour if they late for the first bus. The time in US is valuable, and the public transportation waste customer’s money. Therefore, the public transportation in US is really bad and government need to change the schedule to suitable for customer. That is one of methods to reduce the traffic in US.

DeleteI have noticed the differences between my country which is Kuwait and the US is that the transportation is different, In US there is Trains, Airplanes that travel from City to City, and Applications like uber and lyft also help you travel from one place to another, there is also another difference that i have noticed is that in US there is alot of homeless people sleeping in the streets, In Kuwait no one sleeps in the streets and if they do sleep in the streets it is not allowed.
ReplyDeleteThe similarities between my country "Kuwait" and the US are taxies and buses, we don't have trains and airplanes because my country is too small for trains and airplanes to travel inside the country and I don't think we need it, I have also noticed that we almost have the same fast food restaurants.
After nearly 3 months in US, I have some experience about public transportation and some comparative between VN and US. First of all, I want to mention similar in two countries. Those of them also have public transportation as bus, train and so on. In VN, bus brings people from outside of city to downtown in round trip, and it has similar in US. Every customer must take the bus in bus station and check for the routine before their trip. In addition, they do not allow bringing a big belonging to bus or be charged the amount of fee for oversize. The bus vehicle must provide air conditioner during the trip and nice with customer, the owner company puts camera on bus to observe for all activities in bus vehicle. Secondly, besides the similarity, they also have some differences. In VN, customers do not need to prepare the exactly fare, they can get change. However, the bus fare is 5,000vnd; they can give 10,000vnd or 20,000vnd, but 50,000vnd is rejected by bus driver. In US, customers must prepare exactly fare and put it into machine, so they cannot get change for the surplus. Especially, the routine is very different between two countries. In VN, customers are easy to take the bus, just waiting around 10 or 15 minutes, the next bus will come. It is so convenient for bus taker. On the other hands, the bus routine in US is so crazy, sometime customers have to wait for an hour if they late for the first bus. The time in US is valuable, and the public transportation waste customer’s money. Therefore, the public transportation in US is really bad and government need to change the schedule to suitable for customer. That is one of methods to reduce the traffic in US.
